  • Fluent level English is required. Fluent level Swedish is preferred.

We’re looking for a senior animator to strengthen the team for our singleplayer, story-driven, stealth/puzzling game. As an animator at River End Games you will be working closely with the Creative Director, Cinematic Director, Writer and Level Designers to bring the world to life. In your work you will be asked to both be innovative and come up with scenarios for the game but also assist level designers with more gameplay-centric animations like interactions and canned sequences.

You’ve worked with locomotion, keyframing and mocap editing using Maya and Motionbuilder. You are comfortable learning new techniques and software. It’s a big plus if you have a basic understanding of the different disciplines of game development and how they affect animation. Last but not least, you need to have a passion for storytelling and a love for bringing games to life.

Work responsibilities are to

  • create, implement and refine game play animations such as locomotion, actions, interactions.
  • create and implement animations and systems for NPC characters, mainly humans but also animals and objects.
  • create basic rigging and skinning of characters, objects and animals.
  • use our Xsens bodysuit technology to perform animations to create custom events and in-game cinematics to enrich the game.
  • work in Unreal Engine to implement your events in the game, with the help of the level design team.

To be successful in this position

  • you need to have extensive experience of working in both Maya and Motionbuilder.
  • you need strong keyframing skills.
  • you need strong experience of mocap editing.
  • you have experience from working on single player games with a strong focus on narrative.

It's a plus in this position to have

  • extensive knowledge of working with rigging and skinning.
  • experience of creating both in-game and pre-rendered cutscene cinematics.
  • experience working with Cascadeur.

Why work at River End Games?

You will be an integral part of creating a new IP, shaping the game to give the most enjoyment possible to the end user. We promise that you won’t be a small cog in a big machine but rather the other way around.

  • Competitive salary.
  • Very generous bonus system.
  • 6 weeks paid vacation per year.
  • Pension on top of salary.
  • Yearly wellness benefit.
  • Office located in central Gothenburg.

To apply, send your application to jobs@riverendgames.com. Send your application with a resumé, portfolio and cover letter in either English or Swedish.

Please feel free to get in touch with us even if your skillset or experience doesn’t completely match the criteria listed above, but that you still feel you would be a great candidate for the role.
